Product Overview

Novia® FR Aluminium Foil Tape is a high-quality, single-sided aluminium foil jointing tape with a Class B-s1,d0* Fire Classification. Manufactured from 30-micron aluminium foil, it provides a low-emissivity seal with low moisture vapour permeability, making it ideal for sealing laps and joints in Air & Vapour Control Layer (AVCL) installations. Novia® FR Aluminium Foil Tape is designed to help maintain airtightness and vapour control by sealing membrane laps and edges against air leakage and water vapour ingress.

Novia® FR Aluminium Foil Tape is used as a lap seal with the Novia fire rated Vapour Control Layer's. The 96mm width allows for easier membrane installation on site, and a larger surface area provides a better seal.  It is suitable for use with Novia membranes in both Fire Classification A and Class B AVCL installations.

For optimum airtightness and effective protection against interstitial condensation, Novia recommends using the FR Aluminium Foil Tape in conjunction with Novia® Double Sided Butyl Jointing and Sealing Tape. The butyl tape provides the primary seal between membrane overlaps, while the aluminium foil tape is used to securely seal and finish laps and edges. Always refer to the relevant Novia membrane product datasheet for specific tape selection and installation requirements.

*Tested in accordance to EN 13501-1. Validity of the fire rating applies when installed against substrates with fire class A2-s1, d0 or A1 with density of at least 900kg/m³ & 10mm thickness, with no cavity between product and substrate. Installation tapes & sealants are excluded from minimum fire classification requirements under the relevant sections of “Fire Safety: Approved Document B”.
