Product Overview
Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly is a virgin grade, single-ply blown polythene vapour barrier and air leakage barrier for use as an internal Air & Vapour Control Layer (AVCL). The material meets BS EN 13984 and is CE marked. Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly has good moisture vapour resistance and is suitable for use in insulated wall, floor or roof applications where there is a moderate risk of interstitial condensation occuring. Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly also minimises air leakage and energy heat losses, improving the long-term energy efficiency of constructions. It is a low cost solution which is supplied multi-folded in 4m roll widths and is ideal for use in timber frame constructions. Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly is a transluscent green tinted polythene, with no text or images, which allows for ease of installation to the structural framework.
Sitting between the Novia® 500 Gauge and Novia® 1200 Gauge membranes with regards to thickness and quality, the Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly is fully CE marked as a vapour control layer.
Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly meets the requirements for CE marking, originally introduced under the 2013 Construction Products Regulations with CE marking. Under this European directive, all products covered by a current hEN (harmonised European Norm) must comply with the new standard. Third party accreditation is no longer sufficient. This has been adapted to UKCA following the UK departure from the EU, but the UKCA mark is no longer a condition of sale onto the UK construction market.

Installation Tips
Installation guidelines can be found on individual product datasheets using the links on this page. Novia AVCLs will only perform correctly if properly installed. It is therefore essential to use Novia AVCL tapes, as part of a two-tape sealing system.
We recommend that Novia® 1000 Gauge VirginPoly is installed using of Novia® 30mm wide Double-Sided Butyl Tape and Novia® 60mm wide Metallised BOPP Tape. In addition, Novia® Airseal 310 FR AVCL sealant can be used in all applications where additional sealing is required, for example internal corners, floor sections or window reveals.
