Novia VC2 Air Leakage and Vapour Control Layer
Our low SD value reinforced air tightness and vapour check laminate membrane
Novia VC2 AVCL (air and vapour control layer) is a technologically advanced and reinforced air-tight vapour check membrane with an sd value engineered specifically for use in insulated wall, roof and floor applications in timber-framed dwellings.
This product performs the additional function of an air-leakage barrier, to prevent losses due to unwanted convection flows. We advise the use of Novia double sided butyl tapes and metallised BOPP tape or aluminium foil tapes to ensure complete barrier integrity throughout the entire life of the product. Novia VC2 AVCL should be used in combination with Novia breather membranes to provide an air-tight and vapour resistant system.
This product is CE Approved and CPR compliant.
Vapour Control Layers (VCLs) are used to manage the transition through the building envelope of naturally occurring moisture vapour, which is produced by general building use. Our range of VCL membranes is formulated with a wide variety of construction designs in mind, delivering specific solutions for various applications and requirements. Further information can be found on our Vapour Control Layer page here.
Novia VC2 AVCL is available on NBS Chorus and NBS Source software packages. Full information can be found for NBS specification with the table below. The links will open a pop up window with full specification information.

- CE Approved to EN 13984
- EVA Flame Resistant
- Easy to install (translucent - battens visible through membrane)
- Specifically designed to provide an Sd value of 2-6 metres
- High specification solution
- Roll size 1.5m x 50m
- Use in conjunction with Novia breather membranes
Installation guidelines can be found on the product datasheets using the links to the left.
To install the membranes, we recommend using the Novia double tape system.
Our Double Sided Butyl tape is used on the laps and edges of the membrane, with either Metallised BOPP tape or Aluminium Foil tape then used to complete the seal, keeping down any excess membrane which may get caught in the wind.
