Novia AirSeal 310 Sealant

High tack sealing compound supplied in cartridges for Air & Vapour Control Layers (AVCL) applications

Product Overview

Novia® AirSeal 310 is a high tack sealing compound manufactured from a solvent free polyacrylic emulsion. It can be used for additional internal airtightness sealing applications for high specification Air & Vapour Control Layer (AVCL) installations. A permanent seal, with some residual elasticity, is achieved once the curing period has elapsed. Novia® AirSeal 310 is suitable for use on solid construction elements, in accordance with DIN EN 4108/7.

Novia® AirSeal 310 should be used in all applications where additional sealing is required, for example internal corners, floor sections or window reveals. Novia® AirSeal 310 should be used in addition to Novia’s other AVCL installation tapes: Novia® Double-Sided Butyl Tape and single-sided Novia® Aluminium Foil Tape or Novia® Metallised BOPP Tape.

Novia® AirSeal 310 is suitable for use in colder months (November to March*) with installation temperatures ranging between -10⁰C (with care) and +40⁰C.

Fire Rated Novia® Airseal 310FR Sealant: For applications where additional fire safety is desired, we offer Novia® AirSeal 310FR which forms a fire and smoke seal in joints up to 35mm wide. See Novia® Airseal 310FR datasheet for further product specific information.

Installation Tips

All surfaces should be dry, clean and free from debris, frost and grease. Prepare all dusty, loose or oil contaminated surfaces to present a clean and solid surface. Unprepared surfaces will not seal correctly. The use of a suitable cleaning agent may be required. It is also advised that pre-treating of surfaces with a primer may be required in some situations.

Ventilate the area well for a minimum of 24 hours, until Novia® AirSeal 310 has cured. However, depending on the ambient conditions this may take several days.

Due to the wide variety of construction materials available, it may be necessary to test the suitability of the surfaces and substrates to be sealed prior to use. Novia® AirSeal 310 is not suitable for use as the load-bearing element of a system, so the use of mechanical fastenings is always required. Use galvanised or stainless fixings that will be permanent, and are strong enough to support the weight of the installation.

A sealant cartridge gun is required to be able to use this product effectively.
